Our kitchen was 18 years old and needed some “major” modernizing. We didn’t want to change the footprint and were challenged by what seemed like a limited space. Several kitchen designers looked at it but didn’t come up with any plan that excited us. Then Don Allan gave it a shot….what a difference!
Don had a unique perspective and came up with ideas that no one else had. He zeroed in quickly on what was important to us and within a week had a drawn out plan that we really liked. One visit to his showroom and we had almost all the materials picked out.
His crew was very professional. Eddie, Jamie and Mark showed up when they said they would be there, worked quicking, efficiently, and cleaned up after each day’s work.

We were especially pleased that in addition to a showcase kitchen and two bathrooms, he built an impressive wall unit and twin computer desks with wall cabinets.
Don’s people were totally professional and a pleasure with whom to work. Design changes were implemented quickly and without any difficulty. With a job of this magnitude, there were a few follow up issues after completion of the work. ALL were addressed and corrected in a timely fashion.

We started out with a 20 year old kitchen that we were convinced would look exactly the same after renovation except with new cabinets. Life got in the way, and when we finally decided the time was as close to “right” as it would get, I pulled out a piece of paper I had saved with Don Allan’s name on it. It was given to me by a couple we know, who worked with Don and his firm a few years ago, and were totally delighted with the process, with Don, and with the result.
Don made the process as easy as possible, as did Rob, who helped us with the plumbing choices and supplies. Many of the items we needed to select were right there for viewing in the Allan showroom, which cut out alot of running around. Don’s advice in the selections were unfailingly correct and worked with what WE wanted. He sent us to people who were also extremely helpful in making the few other selections which needed to be found elsewhere. Most of all, his crew of subcontractors were awesome! They arrived when expected, were pleasant and fun to be around, were knowledgeable and professional in everything they did, and were anything but the stressful presence I had anticipated! Lastly, the project was done on time, and with great care and attention to detail in every aspect.
We plan to work on our baths in the not-too-distant future, and we don’t need to look any farther to find the contractor for us! No one believes me when I tell them our story, but it’s all true, and the surest proof of that is our intention to come back to Allan for our next home improvement project!

Hi there, Superb write-up and post! My business is thinking about style and design and especially the styling in the not too distant future. Will you be publishing any specific articles or blog posts regarding future ideas and design and style? Everyone look ahead with every 10 years after which attempt to repeat style and design concepts belonging to the past years such as the 1960′s and also 1970′s in advance of moving forward to some innovative styling. The european countries plus the United states appear to replicate the design of yesteryear, for financial worth just before seeking much more fresh styles for future years.
